I am a believer in EOCing/P&Ging now (that last tank was in less then optimal conditions). Also, I have to say my tires probably have around 25psi in them right now (I have been too lazy and it has been to cold to fill them up).

Traffic Jam from Heck ... 28 MPG ...
Hello -
Total MPG disaster today. Everything was going perfectly until I got caught in probably a 10 mile backup caused by two trucks that crashed and burned on the 105 West. 3 out of 4 lanes closed. No where to go, and not enough info from the stupid @#$ *%&^@$# *^@#$ radio traffic report to figure out what was going on. If I had figured out what was happening, I would have been able to avoid it completely.
There was no chance to even try to EOC because everything was crawling along at maybe 1 MPH and the interchange from the 710 to the 105 is an incline. My engine coolant kept getting uncomfortably hot, so I would hit the AC long enough to turn on the electric fan and cool off the engine (gotta install that radiator fan switch to avoid using the AC compressor!!!!).
This is my bread and butter run for FE, so it has been a bad day on the gas saving front. The is easily the worst single run ever.
MPG : 28 (all time best for this route is 56.4)
Route : 10 West -> 710 South -> 105 West -> CRASH HERE -> 405 South -> Exit Freeway
Miles : 27.4
MPH Avg: 16
MPH Max : 70
RPM Max : 3042
Gallons : 1
IAT Reading : Hot Air Intake led to Input Air Temp readings of 150+ degrees F.
Net Elevation Change : ~210 feet drop
Weather : 73 degrees F, Partly cloudy, 37% Humidity, 42.5 degrees F Dew Point
Time : ~11:30 AM to ~1:15 PM, ~1 hour 45 minutes (normally 30 minutes)

I had a mixed driving day yesterday. Some stop and go city driving at first, but then all relaxing country driving with almost no stops. I imagine I was getting nice FE in the country doing 55mph or less the whole way. Ironically I was taking my brother to pick up a 2000 ford excursion that he just bought. At least it is the turbo diesel version. He said he averaged 21mpg with it on the mixed drive back home (compared to the 18 mpg for the exact same route with his 5.9L jeep cherokee). He doesn't drive all gas hogs though, I talked him into buying a 94 civic dx 5 speed hatch from a co-worker a few months back .

Another 42 MPG tank. New O2 sensor was on this tank. Had more short trips then usual. I don't think I've peaked yet but I'll see how the next tank does. The temperatures are definately ripe for some good FE

Wish I could say the same here. Currently -14C, forecasting -20 over night. That said, the long range forecast shows above freezing daytime temps - touch wood - every day next week. Is winter's back broken? I hope so!

Yeah it's +5*C here right now, so hopefully some of that heat blows your way MetroMPG. It's not all downhill right now though: there's huge ponds of water on the roads because the storm drains are clogged with ice.

Ooh i wish we had some of that here! I've got the Lincoln up to the big metal bumper in water once, she started like hyrdoplaning at 10 mph though, that was weird.
