Not to count my chickens before they hatch, but...
If I calibrated the SG properly, I'm killing this tank. It's currently sitting at 81.x (US) - personal best territory for me. I'm up to around 250 miles, so I'll fill up some time next week so I have an August fill-up in the gaslog
My last 3 trips - suburban / rural / exurban routes - have been in the 100 mpg (US) round trip range. A little over, a little under. I'm a pulse & glide maniac.
If I calibrated the SG the wrong direction, I'm off by about 6%, which would still be a record tank.
I've also been accelerating quite vigorously at low RPM when pulsing, driving it like a BMW.

I'll get off your back about it.
56.4 MPG on the way to peach picking with my class
59.3 MPG back
Can't wait to toss the d15b8 in there somehow this week, however, I unfortunately am about to lose my wheel bearing, which sucks hard, cuz it's expensive to fix, so mehbe I won't be putting the b8 in...

I have never done a wheel bearing. How much will it cost? Did your parents back off on the head swap are you going with the complete engine swap?
Don't back off on me yet. I need someone to motivateme to do the aero mods.

I feel like I'm being rather pushy, sorry.
Anyway, I want to go for the whole engine swap, gonna talk to the guy and ask him if he'll sell me the engine for the cost of the head gasket,
I need the crank anyway for my new alternator and it'll be much easier to do timing belt/water pump with a whole engine. I just wanna get the picking up the engine, maintenance, and putting it in all done in one day, *shrug*

Iono about the tank, prolly crap because I had to drive it home in 2nd one night for the dying alternator to keep the lights on and it did a fair bit of idling while hacking at wires,
I want to smack a 60 mpg tank with the b8,
