That's my theory for why it's on there.

Throw me a keyword. Tried "vx oil exhaust" and nada. Same with "vx oil". Though I'm really liking the new 2-letter limit on the search feature...

Gotcha. Thanks.

FE news: did a 130 mile round trip today to visit family. All backroads stuff, light traffic.

I kind of got hosed on the return trip since it was about 85F for the drive there, going into a headwind, right on the nose. By the time I left, the wind had died completely, so I didn't get the benefit of the push home . Also it was quite a bit cooler by then - 70F .

But I DWL'd my *** off. I don't think I've ever spent so much time looking at my instantaneous FE. On a couple of inclines that were too gradual to codfish down the other side, I was down to 3rd gear just to keep the instant MGP from dipping below an arbitrary number I had picked (75 mpg (US) for the return leg).

Round trip: 75.7 mpg (US). Avg speed 34 mph (incl. about 15 miles of sub/urban driving, and a bunch of stops & turns along the back roads). On the flats, I was probably cruising around 48ish.

That's pretty far from Dan's recent 75 mpg @ 55 mph DWL round trip in the lean-burnin' hunk o' love VX. Not sure what his average speed would have been for that loop, but I bet it was well above 34!

I also had 2 additional aero mods in place: one new (front tire deflectors - didn't have time to make rear ones today), and one revisited (front undertray - cardboard - fell off on the way home )

Just bite the bullet and make a permanent tray.

I will. I have the 'plast.

Needed to work out how to attach the front tire deflectors first, though since they'll interfere with the undertray.

Some love for the VX.

I will concede to the Suzukiclones in low speed pulse and glide but the VX owns the highway. On that particular run which included one off ramp/on ramp in the other direction, the SuperMID reported ave speed at 86 km/h or 53 mph. I did have traffic going by which does help push the air out of my way. I am hoping to try a run at 70MPH but the left side and right side of my brain are battling over that possibility at the moment.
