I know, but sometime in my life I wanna reliably hit 70mpg with the car. Hopefully I can make some money next year and not waste it on another crx...I emailed someone yesterday who was selling one in NH.

Selling one what? Another CRX? If you want to reliably hit the 70's you need a longish drive like mine and a VX, CX, Insight, HCH or Prius. IMO the hybrids will get you there easist, but for a poor college boy a CRX with a D15B8 would be the most realistic.

Well, I'm planning on having the z1 in my car eventually. So, *shrug*
You forgot the metro,
Anyway, yeah, another crx. It's torn up, non-running, half-assed z6 swap. If it's still kicking around by the time I'm up there I might try and scoop it for a few hundred.

Yes, I forgot the Metro. I think it was my jealous subconscience that blocked the Metro from my mind at that moment.

Dan: no block heater in the VX? If there were, would you still be using it?

Now that is an interesting question.
One very noticeable difference between the VX and Del Sol is the time they took to come up to operating temp. Using the same route and with the same ambient temps, the VX warms up in much less time. Typically, in the morning, I can be at temp and in lean burn in 1/2 the time compared to the Del Sol. I'm not sure how the Z1 does it but I am not complaining. I guess I would need to wait until the weather gets colder to see the effect before answering your question.

Mwahaha.
But the oil heats up faster than the coolant, so I'm calling it an oil cooler.
