old epa highway was 30. new is something like 28. I think I can beat the old highway average, hoping for 32. This car does'nt downshift untill you give it a lot of gas pedal, and shifts into 5th at just over 30 mph, so you can keep the revs low and keep a good load on the engine without the tranny downshifting. Absolutely no neutral coasting, owners manual says it will ruin tranny.
I will probably drive this car 2000 miles a year, and 18,000 on the VX.
Both cars combined cost me less than a new Toyota Corolla base model.
regards
gary

NOT FAYR
you have two beautiful cars and got great deals on both of them. I have always liked the Kompressors. I wish I could find deals like those.
beautiful cars man. you need to drive the SLK more than just 2K a year. it's just too good looking not to.

MMMmmm Can't wait to have my own drop-top.
I'm looking to buy myself a slightly worn-in s2000 soon. I need something as my "fun" car that I can take to the track and beat around with after only owning my VX for over a year now.

yea we all have our fun cars in mind, mine would be a 70's muscle car, nova, chevelle, elcamino (probably that and any year) somehting that sounds mean and can roast the tires with a drop of a feather on the gas pedal...
that and or drop a V8 into a normal car/truck (possibly the s-10 when its 4 banger dies) and make a sleeper out of it

thats actually a pretty sweet car, considering you can still hit 30 mpg with it, hard top convertable where you dont need to take off the roof yourself (not like a del sol) and its also a mercades

I'm looking to buy an old Cadillac convertible sometime in the next year or two as my "fun car", and possibly restore the Big White Hooptie to her former glory as well, and I'll have 2 fun cars.

I'd love to find out the technical reason why.
