well filled up today 425miles and 14.2 gallon just short of 30mpg which considering the 21mpg (revised) epa combined isn't too shaby, also there was no real hypermiling at all on that tank beyond things that I just always do without thinking about them (like always using the highest gear the car will tolerate) and the raised tire pressure

Congrats with the 240sx, I have wondered how good those were with fuel-economy. I won't plan on getting one .

Just filled up Papa's Evil Dream. A lot better than I would have thought. Came in at 43.8 mpg.

The car now has good oil in the crank case and transmission. Lets see what she wants to do now.

Just went for a drive in the country, out to the lakes and back again. Was a 33 mile loop. Trip was good for around 46 mpg.

You must be sweet talking your Mazda. She's doing well. And pretty, too.
Old Reliable likes Cowboy music, runs like a wild horse.

Well, your tank just earned you a CD, 'Cowboy Songs of the Old West'. If you care to have it, PM address.

Driving for fun, wasting gas, but not much.

I took a 27 mile run around some country roads this morning for fun. I managed 81.5 mpg at 34 mph ave for the closed circuit. It was nice not having so many stop lights. Going that way adds about 5 miles to my commute and forces the use of brakes coming down a hill. Any way my tank is a little over 70 mpg at 250 miles. I am not being quite so picky about which trips I use this car for anymore. I am doing good enough.

I am working on sourcing some flat top pistons. I have not priced them yet.

The 2.3

Great numbers with the new Mazda

It looks like you can still get good FE with the 2.3 (and have some fun too )
