Plus riding the bus can be a little more relaxing than driving in stop-and-go traffic...

Great job!!! That must have been a nice feeling having to NOT pump that gas!!

Is this using the key-off method and the SG's reported MPG?

If so, remember your distance covered will be short (and MPG calcs will be low as a result).

Yes, it's the key-off method. But the SG stays on all the time when I key-off in this car (those are the Intrepid's numbers, not the Geo's. 35 mpg 'round trip is pretty good for a car that has an EPA rating of only 28mpg highway)

EDIT: just filled the tank of the Chrysler: 33.83 mpg for the tank!

It was a VERY good feeling! The only problem was that I kept thinking that I must have figured something wrong.

Today has been fairly good for FE. Temps started at ~55F and got as high as 69F.
Today's numbers:
1) 53.8-5.8 miles
2) 58.2-9.6
3) 58.7-9.6
4) 60.0-6.3
5) 70.4-5.2
6) 77.0-5.2
7) 70.0-4.9
8) 68.6-4.8
Average for today: 62.2 The tank has 138 miles on it and the gas guage is still setting above the full mark with the SG reporting the tank at 61.7 mpg.

100 mpg (US) indicated for a round trip of 46 mi.
48 mph max.
30 mph avg.
13 C, light to no wind
Relatively little traffic to deal with (obviously)

EDIT: I think that might be the highest MPG at the highest average speed I've seen so far.
