New car

I sold the del Sol (BOO!) since we have a little one on the way. I upgraded to a 2007 Accord V6 6-speed sedan. Drove 11 hours round trip to look at it; I will be doing it again on Saturday when I pick it up.

Fun fact: Despite the fact that the car is 12 years newer, has 41,000 fewer miles, has almost twice the power, and is worth twice as much, my insurance rates went down.

Didn't hear of any Accord that will fall into fuel efficient car category. Otherwise, congrats.

Some accords were available with 5 speed manuals. You can look at it as "Efficient for a midsize car"

The Accord isn't a sipper like a VX or a Metro, but it's pretty efficient for a comfortable family hauler.

I've known several people that could get in the mid-30s in their 7th Gen ('03-'07) Accord 5-speeds. I went a different route, though, and got the V6 6-speed. I think they only made about 1,000 sedans this way over a 2-year stretch ('06-'07). After '07, the V6-manual option went back to being coupe-only.

I wanted an Accord, but I don't want to get something terribly boring after 2 del Sols and 3 Civic Sis over the past 10 years.
