Well living in Wales we obviously have some of the best roads in the World, here are just a few within a 20 mile radius of me, but there are obviously lots more here. First two are the Tal-y-llyn pass from both directions, third is the famous evo triangle, love it there, then the Llanberis pass near Snowdon, and the beautiful Elan valley, and lake vyrnwy. Lots of old Victorian reservoirs here supplying water to England.

Dang. Fine drives indeed! I only wish I'd appreciated California more before I moved away. No terribly interesting drives within any sane distance are to be had.

Couple more that popped into my head, Bwlch y groes near lake vyrnwy, one of Wales' highest roads, the road between Llanegryn and Abergynolwyn by Bird rock,

Top one similar to the A82 through Glencoe, though not quite so rugged.

Yes, also a lovely road. Coincidentally, that's where my accident occurred as per the other topic. A82 is a very dangerous road, I hear it on the traffic news every other day. There were two other accidents, one fatal, within 24 hours after ours.

Problem with the A82 is big lorries and tourist coaches with limited overtaking. Stick impatient car drivers and a high preponderance of LHD foreign cars and you have an accident waiting to happen. Especially if the drivers are admiring the mountains and waterfalls instead of concentrating on the road.

Skyline drive Virginia with 35 mph speed limit, no commercial vehicles allowed. Peak fall foliage just starting this weekend, current peak is in the highest elevations in West Virginia. Wifey spending the weekend with her two daughters, might be time for and old fashioned joy ride

Looks amazing. I love the autumn colours. Trossachs, here in Scotland, are lovely this time of the year.

Fettercairn to Banchory over the Cairn O' Mount. Impossible to do it without stopping every few miles to take pictures.
