Low fuel economy fro my suzuki XL7
hi I have a suzuki XL7 2008 model. Its has 130,000 clicks on it.
It has a very low fuel economy.. 4.1km/l (all city driving. I am from saskatoon, canada and the average temperature is -25.. so is the fuel economy low because of the cold or there may be something wrong with the car. It a AWD.

A big engine with an auto transmission, driven in the city in sub-zero temperatures is never going to get great economy. However like you say, that does seem exceptionally low! Has the car been serviced regularly?

Have you used the car on long distance journeys to compare the economy? If you get bad economy on a long steady highway run aswell as in the city, then you know there must be something wrong with the car. Other than that, it just sounds like the car isn't getting up to temperature and is running on cold idle as you have extremely cold temperatures, and use the car for sort city runs.

Just checked your fuel logs, as you've only entered 2. Are you calculating your own figures or using fuelly? I think you've fuelled up wrong, as you first fuel up suggests you've used fuel but travelled 0 km, thus skewing all fuel ups there after.

i recently bought the car, so have jus got two fuel-ups done till now. My car meter says 21.0L/100km. I am waiting for my fuel tank to go low and then thinking of getting fuel from shell as currently am using a cheap 10% ethanol blend.

Was you 2nd fuel up a partial fuel up? Are you sure you haven't entered an error, as on my screen it says you used 27 litres to go just 70 miles, which seems very excessive like you say.
