Bascially, Southwest (grumble) has a really cheap, direct flight. So instead of using points, we decided to buy me a one way and a round-trip for my Wife. The rest is basically free with travel points: car, hotel, and cheap food (consisting entirely of In-N-Out Burger -- Damn I love that place!)
Sidenote: My Wife and I didn't have a chance to really do something nice for our 2nd Anniversary, so this kinda was a good excuse (of course there's more to the trip than the show).
Then, work buys my flight to Little Rock on Sunday for a Monday workday and then to Indy, Tulsa, home for day, back on road, ad nauseum...
Anyways, the Kansas City Auto Show stinks. It's great when it's here, but compared to others, it's a bunch of car salesmen and cars that have been out for months. A couple of years ago, I caught the Philly Auto Show, and got a taste of a real one.
The LA Auto Show officially kicks-off the Auto Show season and should have a lot of Eco-Friendly vehicles and big debuts. I wanted to go to the Detroit one last year, and couldn't because of work. So know, I'm doin' it up real nice, Clark.
So, in summation, yes: We're flying half-way across the Country for a car show, and vacation.
