I'm back in the game!

My former car, a 1993 mustang convertible, well... It was pathetic.

Despite how hard I tried, I was never able to get more than 30mpg out of it... Pathetic considering how well I did in the bigger, heavier turbocharged thunderbird I had.

My mpg was averaging 20mpg, no matter how many repairs I did on it to help bring the MPG up... I could never do better.

That, and after I acquired my motorcycle, I never really put the top down (if it was nice enough to put it down, I'd rather be riding), so there was that fun aspect gone, I really couldn't bear how bad of MPG it got. That or the fact it was an auto.

So..... I sold it, and bought a better car.

I am now the proud owner of a 1996 Ford Aspire, 5 speed 1.3 liter. Base model, with the only option being A/C. No power ANYTHING. Except brakes.

The 4th highest EPA rated non-hybrid ever. Following only behind the Geo Metro (and it's affiliates), the CRX HF, and the Civic VX.

In the 3 days I've owned it, I've averaged 42mpg over 425 miles. Not too shabby for a car that hasn't even had a tune-up.

I see good MPG coming...

Yup. Probably tonight.

It feels good to be able to be a part of this forum again, rather than just a lurker.
