The crank pulley needs to be removed to completely remove the plastic cover...you might be able to get away with just taking all the bolts out and trying to push it to the side but I think thats gonna be a pain...might as well swap in a new timing belt and water pump while the motor is out of the car too so you will have to remove it all anyways...I just swaped a D15z1 and trans into my Del Sol, a little easier than your swap but if you have any questions I've been messing with Hondas for a while now PM me...

Yipeeee!!! I just dropped the motor on. Kind of. I managed to only have it on by 1 motor mount which is the drivers side. Still waiting for my transmission to come in from canandaiaaaaa. From the looks of it, I think the other 3 mounts bolt onto the transmission. I did manage to remove the engine mount by bending the plastic cover while managing to not break it. I know it's going to be a pain dropping the transmission in once I receive it, or maybe I can just bolt it on from the bottom of the car. Only time will tell.

JDM Source...They quoted me at 300 with shipping. Don't know if that's too much or not. Does anyone have any pics of a 88-91 crx with the d15z1 in it. I'm trying to figure out how the intake box goes.

I install engines for JDM Source.. I doubt your getting a HF tranny. Your probably getting a complete VX swap, which has the hydro tranny. You need a HF cable tranny.

78si you seem to be very knowledgable on this swap. How much would it cost me to do this swap in my 89 HF when the motor goes? If anything I would like it for the reliability of OBD1. I do have a few swaps under my belt mostly JDM B series into EG's. Please excuse the hijack at least it's on the same topic.

From what they told me at JDM Source, it was from the crx cx which is the same as the crx hf in the US. I actually bought the vx engine complete with the harness, axles, and everything else that was inside the engine bay from craigslist with the transmission. I removed the transmission prior to dropping the engine and am just waiting for the hf (or cx) transmission to come in.
