Yup, MAP + RPM will give you approximately the same result as MAF.

Not sure if any OBDII cars were equipped that way, though.

I'm not sure what that means.. The 96-00 civics all use a map sensor, and maybe all civics in general use a map sensor since it's cheaper than a maf sensor. Map sensors are generally used in cars with turbos so IIRC the volvo s60 I drive also has a map sensor, no maf sensor.

I was under the impression that MAF-driven systems were pretty universal by 1996, and MAF-free MAP-driven systems were mainly TBI. I didn't mean that OBDII vehicles lack the MAP sensor.
