How do I make them understand?

I though of bringing up the 2nd law of thermodynamics but I fear it would fall on deaf ears.

After reading the thread, I think you're right.

TDI - What is TDI

Define TDI - from the Linux / Unix / Computing glossary at About.com.

Whoa, the jargon in that thread is off. Yer all wrong and yer all right.

According to the great and mighty Wikipedia,

Quote:
A hybrid vehicle (HV) is a vehicle that uses two distinct power sources :
* An on-board rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) and a fueled power source for vehicle propulsion
* Human powered bicycle with battery assist
* A sail boat with electric power
So anything that has two distinct fuel sources, and/or a separate energy sink to minimize lossy operation is a hybrid.

I mean, I can understand your frustration, but according to thermo, energy is neither created nor destroyed, so stopping at gasoline in terms of source of energy seems just as valid as stopping at the batteries/motor, gas/ICE, or moving car/brakes/batteries/motor. It's t3h sunz0rz that is powering t3h carzors from t3h dinos! But t3h sunz0rz c0m3s from t3h fusi0nz! Where does it end? Well... It doesn't so far as I know. Y'all seem to be arguing in circles about god knows what....

After reading two pages, I see no reason to for anyone to ever post on that thread ever again..

Great! I've been ignoring the "greener than thou" threads on Fred's by judging a thread by its cover, as it were. I've been on Fred's for almost 10 years and have been honing my thread BS detectors since. I presumed there was no reason to view the thread in the link on top so I hadn't...on Fred's.
But on Gassavers.... Well, I clicked on the link to Fred's which dumped me into the middle of some inane, posturing, make the others look bad if you can look good, boast contest. Thanks for pointing out for all the guests and contributors here some of the worst online there.
Fortunately Fred's, like Gassavers, isn't all BS.
