Highest Mileage FE Vehicle?

231,800 on my VX, origonal engine with perfect compression, and 140,000 on the current tranny, and the mpg keeps going up.
I did finely get a low mileage car, 160,000 on my new 1983 civic hatch, I wonder if it's broken in yet.

I know this doent count but my brother is a Honda Tech at the local dealers. He once bought and Accord with 624,000 miles on it just so he could tell people he had a honda with 600k on it. I ran fine but he sold it because he hated the 4 door look.

I know there was a sl2 at the saturn dealer with +400,000 miles on it that looked better then my old saturn.

I've got jsut over 316K miles on my VX. Still the original motor and transmission. Still averaging jsut under 50mpg when we have 15-20mph winds and sub 30degrees F temps.

But I'd also wager that most of the people here with high miles vehicles bought them second-hand (or third- or fourth-hand) with the high miles already on them.

I don't think you can conclude that they're all driving "excessively" just from the odometer values posted.

True. I bought my car in 07/2004 with 200,900 miles. Since then (28 months) I have put on 56,000 miles. I used to have to commute very long distances for work, school, and my then girlfriend (now wife). I don't drive my car to simply rack up miles, but racking up miles is an effect of driving.
