Happy with Truck Choice.

I was planning to economize with a Regular Cab 2WD 6-Cylinder. Instead after realizing I really needed a little more truck I ended up getting a 2010 Ram 1500 Crew Cab ST 4x4 with 4.7L V8 which is actually rated worse than the Hemi. 13/18 mpg> i bought it because of the deal. 30% Off, 0.0% Interest and a bunch of freebies thrown in.

Well it seems to be working out. Now that its nearing 10,000 miles the last three thanks have averaged 20.5 mpg (1097.7 miles /53.66) on 57% Highway / 43% City. So thats 5.5 mpg above the EPA Combined while running the speed limit.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I don't know much about the 4.7 liter motors. The Hemi gets all the attention from the Mopar folks. I think the Hemis may have cylinder deactivation, allowing them to run on 4 cylinders at cruise, which explains why they are rated higher on the EPA ratings.

I ended up going the cheap route and bough a regular cab, 2WD 6-cylinder Chevy... but mine is 15 years old. My mileage is barely better than yours.
