One, we're not allowed to drill for oil in our own country or off it's shores. Two we haven't built a refinery in over 30 years. Yet we import 30% of our gasoline.
So if you want a conspiracy look to Washington and see who is getting money from the Mideast and the environmental wackos. Not the real environmentalists but the old communists who found a home with the Green movement. They will do anything they can to destroy the American economy so they can say Capitalism doesn't work.
Now once you figure out which Congress and Senate members are on the Saudi gravy train then you know who is involved in the conspiracy.

I guess it's a conspiracy that India and China has increased their need for oil greatly over the last five years also.

Personally I find it amazing how well the major oil companies seem to keep fuel at the pump when you need it. With all the crap they have to put up with federal regulations and bureaucrats BS I can't believe we don't have gas lines and $10 gas.

LOL talk about tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorizing loons. How loudly can you bleat? The "environmental whackos" that you basically term 98% of the world's scientists are looking for money themselves to continue their research that the oil companies are trying to prevent them from doing. They don't have money to lobby the government like the oil companies do. Whats more they do not operate on a profit driven agenda like the oil companies OBVIOUSLY do.

This is probably the only sarcasm you used with any kind of informed accuracy. The massive demand posed from China and India AND from the US military coupled with the Iraq war limiting the supply to ONE THIRD of what was being pumped out of Iraq pre-war is contributing to the huge rise in cost of crude. Peak oil of course is also a huge factor as the war and demand are part of peak oil. Don't dream for a second in your naive little worlds that its going to stop here at $126.
The US Department of Defense (DoD) is the largest purchaser of oil in the world.

Here's a reality check for you on the proposed 6 month possible supply of oil, that would take ten years to develop, by destroying some of the last remaining natural lands we have, for short term economic gain only to be experienced by the oil companies. We need to get the F' off of oil and get off of it SOON.
