oops I forgot this forum doesn't have my location under my name. It was in Topeka, Kansas. From what I've read, Oklahoma usually has the cheapest gas. But it also sounds like texas and here in kansas are pretty low, too. So hey, finally something good about this belt in the nation.

on a gas price website it says the lowest in Kansas is 2.18 and the highest is only 2.94. Totally under $3 in the state!

I checked gasbuddy and it said that there was a place in texas that was $2.03 per gallon. I don't really know the site so I cant say how accurate it is but still, we are just now getting out of the $3 gas range in north carolina.

regardless, it is going down

$3.47 premium, $3.37 mid and $3.27 87octane. Should be in the mid $2 range but these bandits have not dropped the rate with the falling rate of crude. Thats life here in the peoples socialist state of California.

dang that sucks. I just filled at 2.15 in kansas, reports that texas has gas at 1.98. I'd be raising hell about that.

Didn't think anyone would believe me, but I have proof! $1.98 a gallon!

I'm wishing I still lived there right about now.

I filled for $2.50 the other day... I'm definately not complaining that the price is coming down, I just wonder how much more it will come. My prediction is that it will continue to fall until after the election and then the prices will stabilize.

If you go to "StateName"gasprices.com they have gas price chart history and it runs in a cycle this time of year down to the lowest and then comes back up around Thanksgiving in time for the holiday driving. It has repeated the cycle for many YEARS! Makes me go hummmmmmm . . . elections related drop?

The Saudis and OPEC know that low fuel prices at election time are good for republicans. They also know that democrats are more likely to raise fuel taxes. Higher fuel taxes means consumption will go down, and they will sell less fuel. They don't want that. Therefore they will increase production before elections always.

Going to do about 100 miles today for business. I get to see pockets of high or low gas prices in different cities. Will report back but all of the prices will be higher than the most of the country. Yuk.
