I was actually thinking of doing this for a custom MPG readout. I have a little handheld GPS unit, but I'm not certain it has a data port. I also work with GPS a little for my job and I know that these little units arn't the most accurate (+/- 10 meters usually). This is fine for camping, boating, etc. to get an approx location, but might not be good for our applications.
