EV cooling seat!

I went to the local ev car association meet today and one of the guys had one of these seats. It was pretty neat for only $120.

He also had a ice cooled a/c system that was built for $10 using a small cooler a 70cfm fan, bilge pump, a vw heater core. It has a 45 min run time on 7 lbs of ice @56f output temp.

Oh man! This VW is in that group:

It's one of my favourites. There's a dead VW pickup near here and I think of this car every time I see it. (And start wondering how crazy I'd have to be to want to pick it up to do another conversion ... not going to happen!)

D00d! Do it! I bet you could make it more aero than the forken swift at the same weight.

Does anyone have the seat mentioned by the OP? I am really interested in getting something like this. You probably wouldn't ever save any money with it, but even with the A/C running full blast, you sometimes can't cool off your backside. I HATE that!!!

I looked at the seat and spoke to the owner. He was satisfied with its performance. It comes with a 120v adapter or 12v cig lighter connector. He said at first it feels like someone spilled water on you and gets cooler from there. Maybe I'll try it out at next months meeting
