Electric

Suggestion: A site like Fuelly, but for keeping track of monthly electric bills. For the same reasons Fuelly helps, so would keeping track of home electricity use.

I think wattzon kind of does this already (and they have automatic fuelly import).

I checked out wattzon thanks. Neat site.

They don't track electric bills like fuelly. It's more of a general one-time entry to come up with an overall energy usage picture.

You can usually look up your electric usage history by logging into your utility company's online account.

Other than that, when it comes to electricity, the added value from a site like Fully is kind of lost in my opinion as it would be like comparing apples to oranges... no two households are the same. At least with cars, you can compare usage from the same make/model.

Or did you mean like a forum where users would post tips about how to cut down on your electricity usage?

For those interested in this, Wesabe just announced a partnership with WattzOn. You can read more about it here: http://blog.wesabe.com/2009/02/09/we...y-consumption/. Good thing, too, as this idea kept bopping around in my head, and it's now one less distraction.

If I'm reading their announcement correctly, they'll automatically calculate and track your electric costs for you, based off your bank's utilities bills. Or something? Maybe Marc can add some details?

They haven't launched the actual service yet, but hopefully it'll enable better awareness of energy use and conservation.

Still an internal beta, but Google's PowerMeter has some potential. It relies on smart meters - which are pretty scarce - but can track your household's actual power consumption.
