DFCO on honda civic with chipped ecu

is the DFCO controlled independently of the EEPROM (chip) data? or is it programed into the fuel maps. where the computer accomplishes DFCO by having really lean duty cycles/pulse widths for the injectors in the really high area of the fuel maps where the engine would be when your coasting or let off the throttle really quick at a higher rpm where the vacuum would shoot way up?

how would the ecu even know. My guess is that it would go by vacuum. if not that what else?

I ask and am really curious about this now because at slightly above a half of a tank I started leaving the car in gear instead immediately putting it in neutral on hills and where ever I get a little momentum. and I'm on my way to my best tank ever. finally hitting 40mpg.

It's not in the fuel map. It's a separate function.
