Cycle 4 Suggestion Box

What do you want to see in Cycle 4?

Since interest seems to be wavering as indicated by the penalties, would it help to take a week off between Cycles, for example?

Use this thread as a brainstorm area for the competition...

Is it fine the way it is, or is there room for improvement?

Commish

Instead of a week break perhaps a month or two break? Maybe run the Challenge for a month during each quarter rather than successively. IMO it would keep the novelty of it better than just constantly running it.

Maybe a month break and two a 2-month challenge following that?

That way the break is long enough to recover if that's needed, and the challenge is long enough to be meaningful.

I'd be OK with the next challenge starting right up, but I can see a break. Do the errands, take the wife/gf to the movies, haul the trash, then back to bare bones hypermiling again.

I agree with Bruce. I think a month break would be nice. And we need at least a couple of months of competition, in order for the high-milage folks to get more than one or two fillups.

This might be naive but part of the challenge was to be inclusive and have as many people join the fun as possible. You really don't know what your FE limits are until you have 4 other folks counting on you. The more people that cycle through the better it is for everyone. If the grind becomes to much for you and you need a month or two off then just resign for a cycle and join a team the next cycle or start your own team. Unless of course you having trouble finding folks then that's another issue. It's suppose to test your limits and be fun.

So what did we decide?

We'd discussed putting the challenge on hiatus for a period and then restarting.

But I don't recall what the final decision was.
Has it been on hiatus or are the new fill numbers counting towards the new challenge??
