If you're using the brakes to slow down , you're wasting forward momentum . Momentum you've built up from burning energy - it may be miniscule - but truth .

Oh ok, thats what I thought you meant but I want sure if you also meant the act of applying the brakes affects FE.

Momentum is the only thing the Metro has to keep it going...I loose that and Im screwed half the time haha. I actually do lots of drifting downhill with the clutch in, and I barely use the brakes anyways unless I have too.

Well, you could say you saw a dog But you do have to have a reason for hitting the brakes...

Have you added a gas log to your garage ? That'd be the place to start .

Nope, I'll do that now though. Ive kept a piece of paper in my visor with my miles on it..

Edit* There, I have my 5 most recent tanks listed on my log. All the previous tanks were calculated differently and are less correct...

Even with good insurance (yours or the other guy's), a wreck isn't worth the hassle. Plus they always give WAY less than the car is worth to you. Oh, AND you might get hurt or something, and what price can you put on your health.

I like the flashers idea.

I hate people that tailgate. I just maintain my speed (whatever it is) and if they want to go around, they have that option. I'm always doing at least the speed limit, so I don't feel like I should have to accomodate any other drivers out there. I think it's funny though. They look so pissed in the mirror sometimes!
