Nice Kraig! I just advanced the timing a bunch in the Xtiva and hope to get up in that range soon. Haven't put 60 as my goal yet....just broke 50 and would like 55mpg next.

By the way, your past 5 fills on your gas log are impressive! Very consistent!

Good to see another Festy on here!! I was the only one for awhile. I'm looking for another one for my wife to drive instead of her gas hog Astro! We're gonna park it and use for trips or when all 4 kids are going with us somewhere. What have you done to your Festiva?

I'm impressed, I'm having trouble breaking 45mpg in my CRX. What speeds are you averaging and what other FE driving techniques are you doing to get that mpg?

If I may quote my garage...

Aspire Suspension Swap Front and Rear (Better ride, handling and saftey)

Front suspension rebuilt including, New KYB GR-2 struts, 2 new control arm/balljoints, New sway bar bushings and steering rack boots from FMS

FMS Lowering Springs

Rear KYB GR-2 struts

Aspire brake swap, including rebuilt front calipers, all new soft brake lines front and rear, new front rotors, new pads

Honda Civic VX 13" Wheels with Kumho 795 155/80r13 LRR Tires

Tune up including Wires, spark plugs, cap and rotor and air filter

Mobil One 0W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil
Mobil One Synthetic Trans Fluid
Utilize Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant Fuel Treatment

Front Grille Block - Partial
Front Lower Bumper Cover Block - Partial
Front Wheel Air Deflectors
Vortex Generators/Air Tabs on Roof Line

That about sums it up so far.
A few years back, I had a bunch of Festivas. Sort of phased out of them and into Metros...now I'm coming back to the DARK SIDE

Your garage states that you travel the highway alot at 80-85mph traffic.

If you kept your highway speed down to 55-60mph, I bet you would do 50-55mpg consistently.

Unfortunately, even the semis in the slow lane are going at least 70 on I-15 north of San Diego, so 55-60 would be a death trap.
