I do it, they go around. As a matter of fact, if you pay attention, that's all they do. Pass and get passed, jockey for position, etc... They generally don't ride all the way up your *** like an auto driver because they're used to passing other vehicles and know they can pass quicker if they hold back for a bit while still maintaining a decent speed and pass you in a traffic gap. At worst, they'll end up behind you until traffic breaks and they can safely pass. Occasionally I'll get honked at for not being on the far right for something that's going to merge/end in a half mile or less anyway, but I'll just flail my arms/point that the right lane is merging and that's that. I recently realized that I've been cruising as slow as 47mph on the 10/15/91. I suppose it helps when your vehicles look beat up.
