Best Civic VX Tires

Its time for new tires for my civic VX. Ive been running Kumho Solus TA11 175/70R13 for the past 60k miles. They work alright. Despite having 290K+ on the odometer I averaged about 45 mpg on a recent 3500 mile road trip.

I noticed that tires-easy has a tire in the original tire size Achilles Tires
Achilles 122 165/70R13 79H . So a bit narrower. Doesn't have nearly the wear rating

But I am wondering if I will notice an improvement going back to the stock size?

Otherwise I am thinking about trying a set of Hankook Kinergy ST H735 175/70R13 82T
they have the highest max pressure of 51 psi and a decent wear rating

Any thoughts?

Label,

I never noticed a significant difference between the 165 and 175 tire size. Of more importance to my fuel economy was inflation pressure, and of course the traffic and the speed driven. Inflation pressure was less important than traffic and speed, even when driven conservatively. It's all a balance, and that includes noise. As these cars age--particularly our already noisy VXs--the get more rattles, etc. Mine's getting louder faster than my hearing is failing.

Good luck.

Ghostee.
