Been a while... car doing good...

It's been a couple years. I got laid off on job. Became a truck driver. Most of this time over the road. My Corolla has been sitting in the garage most of the time, doing nothing. I recently changed to Oil Field driving. It's two hours away.

I've started driving my Corolla again. Drive it about 320 miles on freeway at 70mph. Then around town. Using about half the tank for each.

From past experience here. I know my computer is pretty close. Also bear in mind. I use ethanol free fuel. Regular 85 octane. It helps a bunch with mileage. Also am surprised. I upped speed on freeway to 70. It's as if the car has adapted to get the best mileage it can at that speed. I'm surprised.

Adding a photo of my computer. Each bar is another tank full. Varies a little on what I do in my city driving. Might even sit there and idle with the AC on.

Yes my average shows lower. I hardly ever drove freeway then. Also that included bad mileage during winter. But now with all the freeway miles....
That 'trip 4'... I calculated the mileage on that one. Came out to 39.7mpg. Lowest on the screen.

Hey welcome back, I'd wondered where you had been. Hope the job is going well. Good mileage there, don't assume a lower cruising speed will always give better mileage, many cars achieve higher numbers at higher speeds. I think aerodynamics play a role, but I'm not technically minded enough to explain it properly.

You can't complain about any of those. I think you hit it with the ethanol free being a big factor. I wish we had that around here.
