Automatic AC Defroster in Civic.

Not sure if this applies to anyone else's cars but the 7th gen civics, but I just found out for the defroster can have the AC from automatically coming on...

Was wondering if it would be permanent or would change back on next restart...

er, nvm...its permanent until you decide to change it back. Nice to know though, I guess.

I know on some cars the A/C will kick on and off while the defrosters are on to keep the A/C working all year which makes it mor reliable when summer comes.

The AC comes on when the defroster is on to de-humidify the air. The dryer air removes the moisture building up on the glass(fog) a lot better than just hot air. Most cars have a small switch on the linkage that makes contact when the defroster is selected. Where it is on your car is up to you to find. I suggest you get a repair manual or ask your mechanic. It may be completely electronic and the only option there would to directly unplug the AC compressor clutch so it cannot engage.
