aftermarket wheels and tires psi

I did a search a came up dry. I got a 2008 toyota corolla. I'm currently runnng 50psi in the tires , max sidewall is 44. they are 15 inch tires. I'm looking into dressing up my car a bit and getting some 17 inch wheels and tires. can i do 50 psi in the 17 inch tires if they are rated at 44. not sure what they will be rated at yet. sorry if this question seems a little dumb.
