I'm from Tulsa! (Just doing a short co-op in Houston) I love to see KOTV doing a segment on us. Sometime next fall we should have a gassavers meeting in Tulsa. I had no idea there were more people in the Tulsa area that were gassavers.

Both of us wanted to make the point that Coasting in N ice on or off is extreme and possible against the law. I myself did not want folks with no skills getting out in the cars Friday morning and having wrecks! I could see army's of idiots all amped up about high mpg getting into there cars, cell phones to head and busting into a coast causing massive wrecks. As it turned out. Most have looked at it as a novelty.

Yeah, coasting in Neutral is illegal almost anywhere, but so is going 46 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.

It made a good point, though. Hypermilers are more attentive to the road and surroundings, and often drive under the speed limit -- which Law Enforcers should be very pleased with.

accualy if you get pulled over for going less than 5 mph over the speed limit and you fight it in court it will most likely be droped becasue of a cars spedo doesnt reflect exactly that it says. thier usually all off by +-1mph. some extreme cases 3 or 4 like my chevette

Through the GPS, I've seen rentals as far off as 6-7 mph at 60. Odd thing is that the VSS must've been accurate as the SG usually showed about the same as the sat-nav.
