94 eg hatch

I started a project for a 97 del sol but due to the economy I lost my job and things have been slow so i sold the del sol(i miss her).

Well things a turned around a bit i picked up a BEAT UP eg hatch for cheap and put my goodies on it.

Parts list

MOTOR d15b (single stage vtec) with a skunk2 IM with throttle body spacer. Ebay header to a 2.5 cat and cat back exhaust. Ebay intake.

STIFF STUFF i have blox coil overs and agx shocks.

All above was installed prior to me picking it up. below is what I have done.

TUNING P28 ecu chipped and running neptune RTP. LC-1 WB. MPGuino.

Ok this is the point where I need help. while trying a bunch different things with neptune I still cant get my mpg where I want it. The best archived was 43mpg. The tune started in neptune as the "stock P28" tune and i have played with the primary low cam fuel and the primary low cam ignition. closed loop has been disabled.

Am I missing something? All help is greatly appreciated!

Probably also worth mentioning instant mpgs.

55mph=38mpg
50mph=42mpg
45mph=48mpg
35mph=62mpg

55 is the highest speed limit on my commute to work and round trip is 74 miles.

Thanks!

I don't post to much on the other forum anymore. I tend to hang out here.

Anyway your car should be doing a whole lot better?

A couple things I would check is make sure you cam is not off a tooth. I would put your crank pulley at tdc and pull number one spark plug. Then get a long screw driver and insert it into the spark plug hole. Put the car in 4th gear and while watching the screw driver move the car back and forth until the screw driver sits at its highest point. Then look to make sure your cam is on its marks. Out of four D series Hondas I have purchased only one had the cam timing correct.

If everything checks out then put the spark plug back in and make sure your timing is correct with a timing light. The timing light and Neptune should read the same.

Did you add more timing while you were tuning at light load? I had to run around 42* advance @ 18.5 A/F with the non-prechamber D15.

Also I would set your individual fuel trims to 0 1 1 0

Does the car seem to have good power and does it idle smooth???

Re: 94 eg hatch

The idle is very smooth and right at 900. Yes the power is good as fare as i can tell (coming form DSMs). I tried adding timing at light loads but MPGs went down.

Good point on the cam setting. I thought about that a while ago but didn't investigated it do to rut running ruff. Ill check that out next.

I just changed the fuel trims. Ill report back latter them I drive to work.

Thank you for the help!

Re: 94 eg hatch

I think i remember seeing you put a set of DSM 450s in your non turbo setup.

Did it help? I have a set just setting around.

Not sure?

Being the DSM injectors are peak and hold the MPGuino won't work.(I would double check though) Plus you have to run a resistor box. I have one you can have if you go that direction.

They work well but I don't know if I would say they outperformed the stock injectors.
