Re: 84 crx hf questions
this car keeps getting better and better, or I am getting better at hypermiling. 212.4 mikes, 4.146 gal = 51.23 mpg. can't wait for warmer weather to see what kind of mileage I can get.

Great mpg!
What would you guess your average speed is per tank?
At what rpms do you usually upshift?

Re: 84 crx hf questions
I am up in the mountains, so I never go over over 55 mph. often, I am down to 45 on some of the steep grades, in 3rd gear. since I have manual steering, brakes, and transmission, I do a lot of eoc. some of the grades I can coast for miles, and I have to ride my brakes to keep it at 55 mph. the hills can hurt your mileage, but going down the other side makes up for it. I try to shift at 2000 rpm, but occasionaly as high as 3000 rpm.

Re: 84 crx hf questions
added a partial upper grill block, aired tires up to 50 psi. filled up @377.7 miles, 6.7 gal. = 57.3 mpg, have I mentioned I really love this car? the fuel gauge goes down real fast, and then slows down at 1/4 tank, and below. gauge was just above empty when I filled up. I am not sure what size tank I have , but 10 gallons should take me over 500 miles.

I'm encouraged by your results. I've owned my 87 HF 1.5 for 2 months now. I'm getting a pretty regular 45mpg, with some 50mpg peaks when I drive 50-55. My next big move is to put an HF transmission back in it.
I presently turn 2500rpm @ 55mph. And BTW, I love my car too.

Re: 84 crx hf questions
