Finally found my haynes manual
And thanks to my beautiful girlfriend, i have rewired the car.
thats right, she helps

Although it is still throwing a code 48, I know for a fact it is wired up right.

D8 directly wired to RED on the o2 sensor
D16 directly to Black
D41 to White
A6 to Orange
A24 to Yellow

Red91sit i am running a p07 VX ecu

So i guess I will have to get another o2 sensor

Take a voltage measurement between D16 and D18. You should see -0.78V while the sensor is cold and 0 to -2V while not in lean burn. Expect +0.2V at idle and +0.4V during lean burn. If you are getting these readings, the O2 is fine.

I got the blues too. Spent today hooking up my 5-wire to the P07 49-state ECU.

white to D14
black to D16
red to D8
orange to D6
yellow to ground

At startup, the engine runs with no CEL..... 30 seconds after idling, however, I get a CEL with a code of 48 - LAF.

What have I got wrong?

Blues here, too!

I have a vx and it throws a code 48 every few minutes...
When I first bought the car the previous owner had put a brand new one in trying to fix the problem of throwing the code on downhill coasts or any deceleration with it in gear. (didn't fix it). I had to adjust my driving and shifting to not throw the code but it has gotten progressivly worse...

I'm scared to spend the money on a new o2 when the last new one only lasted a 8 months and still threw a codes the whole time (although WAY less often at first)

any advice?

Can you get a good enough tune with chrome pro and turn the o2 off (A friend of mine has the setup for tuning)?

I am running now.... no CEL's... but missing (or it seems like it) when falling into lean burn. Thanks to TomO who sent me a decent schematic... the wiring listed previously in this thread is not complete. I will post a complete CA VX to lean burn swap DYI as soon as I get this figured out.

D8 Blk/Yel Red VS+, VS, VNB sense Negative Pump Cell, Sensor 1
D14 Wht/Blk White IP+. Pump current Positive Pump Cell, Sensor 2
D16 Wht Black IP-, VS-, VS/IP, common Ref Voltage

A6 Yel/Grn Orange HTCNTRL Heater Pos
A23 Blk/Grn Yellow PG1 Heater Ground

D22 Or n/a SG2 Resistor
D3 Or/Blk n/a LABEL Resistor

This is from a successful 4 wire to 5 wire conversion. The grounds are key as they are not chassis ground. Much of the confusion for me was the various names in all the literature.... all for the same thing.

Note also that the wire colors from the o2 harness back to the connectors may be different. you really need to check continuity to the ecu pinouts to find the right wires.
