but this is a diesel, and probably wouldn't break 30 hp, still half what your vx has. it is a pretty light car though, so i guess (like someone else mentioned) with the proper gearing it would be alright. its hard to saw without any stats though.

It does have six gears to make up for the low hp. On wikipeadia it said might go into production in 2009. I'm sure one of the math wizzes on here could post the equations that show how the extremely low coefficient of drag will allow the car to manage on 8.5hp. Hard to imagine tho!

I remember reading that it was getting those FE numbers mainly in the 15mph range. But it did have a crazy Cd of around 0.13 or something. (I'm quoting other people here. So if they're wrong, I'm also wrong.)

0.16 according to wikipeadia.

1500 (civic VX) divided by 300 (1-L) = 5. 60x5= 300. heh, I guess it doesn't quite work that way. The 1-L is 1/3 the weight of the VX. Has 1/5 the displacement. 1/11th the horsepower and nearly 1/2 the drag. Now, the VX is prolly good for 80mpg with an average speed twice that of the 1L. And you say the 1-L is good for ~240mpg at 15mph. So at half the speed, it gets 3x the FE. I dunno what to make of all that. Car gets 3x better FE and weighs 3x less.

Yep. Try here. The article also talks about a revamped Lupo design even sooner.

Ditto. If it had the cargo space I'd even buy one for a business vehicle.

I thought that the 1L achieved that at 80 mph? I remember reading something about it a few years ago in which they got that mileage on the Autobahn.

Oh man, if they can put that 299cc diesel car together for less than 7 grand and it gets 200+ mpg, I wouldn't give a rats pitute how slow it accelerated
