50mpg is not hard to achieve in this vehicle. We have the same vehicle (07 corolla LE 5spd power everything / cruise control) with mixed city driving never over 60mph highway (mostly 55 with cruise control) I achieved 53 over a tank. This included ICE off coasts around town. My father commutes to work in it and he only sees 35ish (he drives inefficiently). When we filled it and did the math he was blown away, and started asking questions about how to hypermile. Keep in mind also that the odometer in this car does not spin while neutral coasting ICE off and key off. I turn the key back on after sufficient time to allow the engine to stall but its possible 1/10 of a mile for every ICE off coast was not logged. So it could have been slightly better. Keep up the good work!
