I seen a website about these hub motors, I can't recall the name but they mount on the outside of the wheel and have a swing arm that extends and mounts under the rocker panel area on the side of the car just ahead of the rear wheels.
It seems like a great idea, but so far it seems they are still in development. I believe it might actually be a patent pending design.
