the 1HZ consumption

Hi folks,
I am a bit lost in all the figures reported on the Toyota 1HZ diesel engine powering or having powered several models of Land Cruiser.

I have the opportunity of purchasing a new Toyota land cruiser HZJ76 4.2 diesel. I am however a bit afraid of its consumption, especially in urban ride. Could anyone of you give me a "realistic" fuel consumption range?
For sure, it will depend on several factors. However, in driving smoothly and without extra loads but the driver and his spouse.... how much could one expect as a fuel consumption?
