Smile Prius MPG Cost

I'm from Maine and have Emera Maine as a electricity provider. I traded in my Silverado truck that was averaging 15 MPG on my new Toyota Prius Prime Advanced. I average about 54 MPG just on fuel and find it cost more to plug it in than the cost of fuel. Now on top of that they are going to impose an additional state tax on hybrid cars. If I would have known all that I would have purchased a fuel only that get 36-40 MPG. Another note, Toyota Dealers here won't even charge your new Prius when you buy it. Can't find any charging stations within 200 miles. But was in Bangor the other day and had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays and they had 8 empty Telsa chargers available.

Hello and welcome to Fuelly. No such thing as a free lunch these days, our government has been cracking the whip with hybrids and EV's too, with tax increases and cutting back on incentives too. Then again, fuel is quite expensive here.

I think the government is going to do us in, no matter what we do or where we are. Good luck.

Thumbs down

That's a drag that the dealers won't charge your Prius when you buy it. Pretty sure they will here but could be cause of low sales ?
