Not new but want to introduce myself
Hi, I'm a motorcycle rider with a 2006 Honda NT 700 V Deauville. I'm somewhat a number person, that's why I even have an account on Fuelly. I never fully trust on board fuel efficiency values, since i never even had a decently accurate experience. My go to method is to reset tripmeter at every gas station, fill up as consistently full as possible and then calculate the real mileage out of those two numbers. My on board system always tells me that I'm doing 0.2-0.3L or even more with lots of cold starts better than measured.
Riding style is a mix of somewhat sporty and relaxed when traveling with my fiancee. I use a lot of engine brake since that saves fuel and brake pads/discs. I can get 4.8L/100km very easily even going sporty, as long as there isn't any highway. Even on the highway at 160-170km/h indicated(speedo) I get 5.4-5.7L/100km which is incredibly cheap to travel fast IMO.
I still avoid the highway if possible, since I don't like squared tires on my bike.
Pressures are on the high side at 2.55bar FR(120/70/17 Michelin Road 6) and 3.0bar RE(150/70/17 Michelin Road 5). The Deauville has a notoriously soft suspension setup, which is the reason I went for slightly higher pressures to get at least some feedback from the road and the rear tyre not squirming as much
Any comment is welcome!
