Not just any CRX
Whats up, I am the owner or Rywire.com we make custom engine harnesses for Hondas...
Well, I just got done with my project K20R CRX the thing is a beast by the way... and even gets like 32mpg hwy. Thats real good for what its worth, but I really want to have a daily driver that I dont have to fill up all the time, and one thats nice for the environment.
Thats why I have decided to start project mpg. I plan to take a d15z1 engine and ecu, and mate it with a crx hf tranny. This will be done in my totally stock 88 crx dx. I plan to leave it basically stock, other than the 89 jdm tail lights, and a set of mild drop springs and shocks.
Ill keep yall posted.
Ryan

Hey Ryan, welcome to the board. I'm sure you'll be a positive asset to the community! The project sounds good, looks like I'm going to have a little competition, which is great, always helps push things forward. =)
FYI, my setup is in a 88 Hf, d15z1 engine and ECU, Hf trans, and for right now, "race style" gutted interior. I'm thinking seriously about putting ALL the interior back in, as summer is coming up and AC would be nice. So I should be sitting at around 1700lbs at that point.
Let the game begin. =)

Nice dood, ya its going to
Nice dood, ya its going to be close, but I dont plan on doin much of a weight reduction on this thing. Just rims at most(vx rims). Is your ecu tuned? I was thinking of having the car tuned for economy, lol. I was considering Crome, and adding a usb datalogging cable.
Ryan
PS, what mpg are you gettin as is?

Don't steal my vx rims,
Don't steal my vx rims, punk,
Anyway, you can't be tuning on the stock ecu, so if you wanna tune you need to dump egr,
Crome is good, I would do it in that, dan (krousdb) is running crome but I need to get a wideband and mess around to get his afrs in the right area.

you could put egr on a
you could put egr on a vacuum activated switch
i've been considering how i'm going to handle the egr factor
i probably wont be able to integrate it with boost...
but maybe it might work at zero psi

I was talking to drdisco
I was talking to drdisco about it earlier and he said it'd be a pain to do. When does it normally come on in reference to vacuum?

I have only been able to get one test tank through it and then decided to replace a bunch of stuff before going further with the project. My first tank was in the low 60's (I didn't write it down), but that was with a tank of 1/5 91 and 1/5 of that mileage was with a b17a motor. The ECU is a stock VX 5-wire P07.
I'll be running a set of HX's for now. Maybe move to VX's in the future...
