Noob with a Scion xB

After years of driving a company car I changed jobs and had to buy a car. Well I found a good deal on an 05 scion xb. And now I have to be worried about paying for gas. The previous owner said he was averaging 35mpg. Have not made it through a tank of gas yet but I love to drive it. I have been reading here for a few weeks and have a good idea on how to drive for FE. I am still looking for ideas on where to start with the xb for modifications.

Here is a pic of my new toy. or as my kids call it my new "toaster"! (I can thank my wife for that one )

Welcome! I love xBs, fun, utilitarian, and they get great gas mileage for being so boxy.

Welcome Fellow xBer . . . I also have a white 06 just made a trip out to Cape Cod yesterday and got 44.1mpg going out there almost all highway and tooke the slower Route 6 back and got 49.0mpg. So you want to up your mileage a little huh?

Start with more air pressure in the tires . . . I run a hard 40-42psi cold pressure. Acetone in the gas works for me too. Along with a good wax job or better yet since the wax doesn't stick to the Toyota paint get some good polish maybe evey with some Teflon in it and polish the windshield too!
