new to the site...
Hello, I came across this site and although I have employed some hypermiling techniques that I learned on my own it was refreshing to find a site dedicated to it and continue learning. I just got a 2009 Corolla a month ago and am excited to see what it'll do. I have kept my own fuel economy sheets for years now as it is a pure indicator of engine health and a sure way to test techniques.
This is my first new car as I have found value in preowned for many years, but due to the extreme resale value of these cars it made sense to buy new. It is well put together and I do enjoy driving it. It gets above EPA between 41-44mpg US and 5.3-5.7L/100kms with almost 5000km on the odo with 80/20 highway/city. I am coming up to my first oil change and the engine "breaking in" a little more so I am looking forward to the goodness.
