New guy from sc
Just joined , this site is new 2 me , I ride a 2000 yamaha 250 virago , I've moded 4 mpgs . I currently am run n a 16/33 sprocket combo ( stock wuz 16/45) & is main factor n improved mpg . I drilled 3 one holes on underside of air box which helped power & mpg, & is only engine modification . Bike is not cold natured now & never hav 2 use choke , just crank & go. I also built an aerodynamic front end /windshield from scrap aluminum i hav lay n around & sum plexiglass ,which helps mpg & power @ speeds over 45 mph. I built a ( big)box on rear rack 4 storage . I ride 2 up 90% of time . Me & d wife wiegh 440lbs 2gether. Top speed stock wuz 75 mph,, mpg 60-70 range . I put 17,000 miles on it last yr & averaged 92mpg ,,top speed now is around 90 mph . 1 can cruise @ 70-75 mph & git 85-92 mpgs. If I ride around 45 mph it gits around 100 mpgs , best ever wuz 108 @ 35-45mph , which I hardly ever do .

I tired ot fix your image tag in that last post, but it still doesn't seem to work. That's a cool looking bike. Looks like a mechanical bird.

i started out wid a traditional cruiser front end , bike would only run 75 mph,& got n d 70s mpg @ any speed over 55 mph wid a 2.2 gear ratio . D "transformer " front end allows a 2.06 gear ratio , top speed is now around 90 mph & can run 70-75 mph & git 85-92 mpg . Both front ends will git 100+ mpg if I ride around 45 mph . I haven't seen any mpg improvement ride n solo as 90% of ride n is 2 up . Wind is the biggest factor
N mpg over 45 mph , run n n 2 strong head winds lower mpgs , we've had lots a storms tis yr .

I don't have anything like that on my bike. I tried a windshield, and I absolutely hated it. On the highway my head was constantly being tossed about like I was closely following a truck. I had hoped that a windshield would give me somewhat better areo, but since I can't stand riding with it, I just try to keep my speed down.

B 4 I made my windshield/front end I had wind blast n me n d face cause my glasses 2 bounce around , but since I made my "front end" I only git just enough air blow n by me 2 keep me cool . N rain storms , hence "rider of d storm" I only git wet when I stop , except 4 my feet , but wear crocs n d summer so no big deal ! The bike is so much better since I don't hav all that wind on me , meet n a semi truck on 2 lane hwy I don't even notice now , b 4 wuz like a wall a wind that shook my helmet & d bike
