new focus
I just bought an '07 Focus ZX3 S. I haven't run through a tank of gas yet so I haven't posted any FE results. I'll add the car to the Garage as soon as I fill it up and take some pictures.
I bought it because it had a good combination of utility, fuel economy and price (the $2500 rebate made the decision easy, plus the Ford dealer is a block and a half away.) However, I'm pleasantly surprised at the power that is available should I have a need for it. I haven't really opened it up yet since it's still breaking in, but I have plenty of confidence on the freeway.
I took the spare tire out to reduce weight since most of my driving is within 5 miles of my apartment. If I take a road trip I'll replace it.
Are there any other Focuses (Foci?) on the site?

There are a fewer older Foci on GS, but not terrifically many.
Welcome to the site, fellow Ben.

Word, I ride my bike in the summers. It is a 13-15 mile commute though. It takes me about 21 minutes

Adding a Focus to the mix. Should be interesting to see what kind of fuel economy you can squeeze out of it once it starts to break in.
I'm all for biking too when the weather's good. (It's still so weirdly mild up here I haven't put it away yet - just got in from an errand by bike actually.)
Welcome to the site.

Ben. Welcome to GasSavers. I own a 99 ZX2, predecessor to the ZX3. I have been thinking someone should be on here wringing out one of those. Now we got him. Is yours manual or auto? I will be watching for you.
