There probably is an option to have the car filled, but it would cost about $100 more for an average sized car.

I prefer the system of picking up the car with a full tank, and refuelling it myself right before returning it.

Same here, since you don't risk putting much more fuel into the car than you used. I guess it's just what we're used to here in the states (except for Uhaul trucks for some reason).

LOL, Uhaul trucks are the worst. They sure are quick to charge you for bringing the truck back with less fuel than you picked it up with, but they NEVER fill the tanks.
