Howdy from Louisville, Kentucky.

I've got a '95 Civic VX that I love, 214,000 mi. and runs great. Originally I planned on putting in an H22, but I've become smitten with the little car in its original shape. Anyone else have a VX?

Nice. I'd love to have another one at some point. Mine needs a little body work, but it runs great. I just did its 3rd t/belt, water pump, etc. I'm getting ready to buy some camber/toe adjusters for the rear so I can get my alignment right. I got ahold of some free 13" dunlops, so I put those on too. What year is yours? Had any trouble?

Very nice! Yeah, definately don't swap the engine out of there. They are becoming harder and harder to find with the orignal engine.

Ah. I hope it serves you well - I love mine! I was never into imports, but after 3 1/2 in a Honda dealership I had no choice but to love them. I've seen tons of them with 200k+ miles running with no trouble at all. A friend of mine has an '89 Accord LXi with well over 550k.

Is it just me or is there a trend here between Honda and fuel efficient vehicles? Nah, it's gotta just be me...

Anyway, welcome!

I haven't done very accurate experimenting, but the best I've done is 52.5 mpg on the interstate. The worst on the interstate was about 28mpg, but that was going a full tank at 90mph. I got the 52mpg going about 65. At the time, I had wider tires than I have now, they were underinflated, I had a lot of extra weight in the car and I had the wrong thermostat. Also it was cooler outside than it is now. I think if I did the same experiment again I could see 55mpg, maybe more. I recently drove to KC and back , and at 75mph with the windows up (murder without A/C!) it did about 47mpg. As far as a lifetime average I have no idea - I'm the third owner, and my driving habbits change quite a bit. I love working on the car, and after several synthetic oil changes the valvetrain looks better than it did when I got the car three years ago.
