Within the last two years a couple of things have occured. First, someone egged my car. That really thrashed the paint and subsequently I had to repaint the front passenger side door. And of all things, it happened while I was DRIVING on the freeway. Then my WRX had reverse gear transmission issues that resulted in a two business day vacation at the local dealership. Twice, my right fog light has had to be repaired. The next two are my fault. I side swipped a large bush/small tree on a rural road and cause much paint damage ($3000-500 deductible). And just recently I rearended someone. Bags didn't deploy as my speed was not in the confines for something like that to happen. To the car another $3000-500 deductible damage.
You know I actually measured my MPG once prior to me finding this site and it was not good. The bulk of my driving is driving to and from work in a rural area and I was hovering around 20mg. I can easily see how 18mpg in the city is very likely. Highway mpg is pretty respectable. I am able to achieve mid to high 20's.
All that said, I still absolutely love what my car is about. Even the non-accident issues wouldn't keep me from buying again. I think I got a "lemon" in that regard. You don't see one around every corner. AWD. 4doors. Turbo. Its quick enough. Handles good.
