Hi everyone, just discovered this site and I must say its going to save me keeping paper records from now on!!

I have just sold my 2001 E220 CDI Mercedes which to be fair had pretty good economy considering its size (high 40's low 50's on average).

I have just purchased a 2011 VW Golf Estate 1.6 TDI Bluemotion as my daily commute is likely to increase from 64 miles to a 120 mile round trip.

I have already got the average well into the 60's with a single trip record of 82mpg over 32 miles (mixed A/B roads and motorway).

Looking forward to some great data from the site!!

Hello and welcome. That's a very efficient useful vehicle you have there, hard to beat in terms of economy for its size. I too had a great trip, similar in length about 30 miles, and managed 90.6 MPG! Hard to beat diesels for economy, but difficult to keep it up over a tankful.
